PROJECT 1
Explore My Work
This is the progress of my PROJECT 1 from the very beginning till the end.
About
For this Project we are required to choose a double-story house, so IÂ chose a house called AT3/56, by E.Re Studio. This house is located in Indonesia. We are required to produce multiple drawings such as floor plans, elevation, section, callout and a 3D model using REVIT.
PROCESS
STEP 1 -Â Open Project
This is the very first step to start a project in REVIT. Homepage > Project > New > Select Architectural Project

STEP 2-Â Insert Floor Plan
Drag and place the floor plan image into REVIT> rescale the floor plan > draw a detail line (DL) on a line with dimension > select image > rescale (RE) > click on first and last point of detail line > type the length of the line that you selected. The image will be resize accordingly

STEP 3- Grid Lines
Draw Grid Line (GL) by referring to the floor plan, and put dimension (DI) between the grid line.

STEP 4- Walls
Draw Wall, from the properties tab, select a type of wall that you want to use for the house, I used a 200mm generic wall, I will modify the details later to add the material layer. After creating the wall, I create the floor. I selected generic 100mm floor.

STEP 5- Doors and Window Indication
Load the doors and windows families from properties or Load Component/Load Family. The Doors and Window Families will be loaded at the tab. Just place them according to the floor plan.

STEP 6- Modify Dimensions of Windows & Doors
The doors and windows are now in their place, next edit the parameters for the width and height. Go back and forth to 3D View to ensure the doors and windows are changing according to the dimensions being set. Ensure to duplicate when we are needed to change certain settings.

STEP 7- 1 ST FLOOR Indication
Next go to first floor plan and create wall and floor. Then the staircase, from Ribbon > Stair, adjust the parameter for riser height and thread width. Ensure to check in 3D view back and forth when editing to ensure the staircase is connected to both floors.

STEP 8- Stairs
Next, create an opening using shaft opening tool, Ribbon > Architecture > Shaft Opening, draw the size of opening you want to open.

STEP 9- Room Tag
After complete constructing the basics, indicate each spaces with room tag (RM), and name each space alongside with its space area.

STEP 10- Materials & Finishes
Select the floor or wall, from Properties Tab > Edit Type > Duplicate, give a new name for the wall or floor. From the Edit Type > Construction > Structure > Edit, I have created new layers and choose different material according to the room.

STEP 11- Roof
Create the roof, from Project Browser > Floor Plans > Roof Plan, then from Ribbon > Architecture > Roof by Footprint, draw the roof line, set a slope degree if needed or off the slope if it is a flat roof. Next, assign a material for the roof > annotate the roof using text and use masking region to create the roof pitch arrow.

STEP 12- Topography
Create the topography , from Ribbon > Massing & Site > Topo surface, select Place Point, adjust the height of topography at the Elevation value at ribbon. Next, select the topo surface, from Properties tab and select or change the material.

STEP 13- Section
Look for the section key at the top bar and draw the section line anywhere you want to cut. Look for the section page in the project browser to enter the section view or click the section arrow . For a more detailed section, I draw the profile for the roof and the house foundation structure using cut profile and masking.

STEP 14- Callout
Cut a callout view when you are done with the section drawings, to find callout, go to Ribbon > View > Callout. Annotate the callout and add details.

STEP 15- 3D View & Exploded View
Ensure to check your 3D view to make sure everything looks fine. Then duplicate the 3D views in Project Browser to do an Exploded View, select the part you want to exploded, then from Ribbon > Modify | Roofs/Walls/Floors > Displace Elements > drag the XYZ line of the components to desired position, and then click on Path in the Ribbon to produce the dotted line which indicates the location of the moved component.

STEP 16- Room Schedule
Create a Room Schedule, look at Project Browser > Schedules (all) > New Schedules > Category > Room, for the available fields, select area, level, and name and remember to arrange it accordingly.

STEP 17- Room Legend ( Color Floor Plan)
Go to Annotate > Color Filled Legend, then the color is automatically filled. You can edit the colors of the legend by clicking the legend and click edit scheme from above.

STEP 18- 3D Views
Next to create an interior view , go to View > 3D VIEW, arrow down and you will see CAMERA. Now place the camera any location and adjust the perspective view.

STEP 19- 3D Section Cuts Perspective Views
To create a 3D Section View, make sure to duplicate an extra 3D View and go to Properties and enable the Section Box> adjust whichever place you want to cut or show.

STEP 20- Documentation
Once all drawings are done. In order to proceed with documentation process , go to Project Browser > right click Sheet > New Sheet and load the sheet that was provided in TIMES. Drag and drop the drawings into the sheet from project browser. Lastly, export the drawings by going to File> printer and export it as PDF File.
