Self-Reflection

Architecture History & Theory this module had taught me many things. Personally I am not a person that like history because there are many things to read, understand and memorize but I like how the lecturers take turns to teach on different weeks and it will always gave me a fresh feel every week and they give us space to study on our own pace.

For project 1, there was quite a lot to do as there are 5 different sketches we are required to draw and we will need to do research and compile it in an A4 paper for each sketches. It took quite some time for me, from the research part to the drawing , the composition of every sketches , to the inking of all the drawings and to the painting. Even though there are a lot of things to do but it was a great project because it helped me understand more about the architecture history, components, facts, design, principles and theory on how people build their buildings.

For project 2, it was a group project so I had a chance to work together with other students. There were 2 international students in my group so It was tough in the beginning during the researching phase but once we get the grip of it then everything starts to fall in place and we managed to complete everything.

This project made me understand more about our historical places and it is also a great chance for us to show other international students the unique parts of Malaysia architecture while doing research.

This module has made me understand the ancient to modern  history, common facts, architectural styles and theories effectively. Online learning doesn't affect the efficiency of this module as it is more academic-based. The activities in classes are engaging and it successfully motivated us to engage ourselves in classes. Lastly, I am truly thankful for all the guidance we got from the tutors and thank you for being helpful and understanding throughout the course.
