This project challenges students to relook; the things around us as what we see it the first time will not be same as we look it at the second time. It is known as Visual perception; the ability to interpret the surrounding environment by processing information that is contained is visible light. The resulting perception is also known as eyesight, sight,or vision. We are required to illustrate 2 pieces of drawings; ONE; select a subject matter that we can find around us. Draw as what you see the first time. We must render our drawing in black and white. The objective of this project is to challenge what we see from our findings and be able to describe them visually. SECOND; to look the same subject matter from a different point of view. We may use colour in our renderings. What do you see now? Which view is best described the subjects chose?

PROJECT 1A (BLACK AND WHITE)

I chose three coffee cup stacking on each other and it is overflowing with milk. As during this period of lockdown, everyone is at home and I started to notice simple things that are interesting such as this and I decided to capture it and draw it out. The overflowing milk gave a really dramtic feel to it and when I look at it and think deeply. The whole visual is like telling us a story about life. Sometimes we shouldn't over stressed ourselves, take a cup of coffee and relax. The over pouring milk represents the stress and extra workload and the cup is representing the space we can hold on for the time being. We should not force ourseleves to do too many things at one time and deal with it alone. We can share with others our difficulties as it can help us release our burdens (pouring it into three different cups to avoid overflowing).

( COLOUR )

For the second drawing, I decided to look closely to the whole image of the spilling milk and I could visualise it as a flood scene. I added mini human figures and some broken tree brunches and some flooded house to potray the entire situtation. When I am drawing this, I learned that soemtimes we should look at things differently then we can discover something different or interesting.

In the begining I actually had trouble looking for an object to draw. I kept thinking that I have limited objects to draw as it is lockdown period but soon after, I actually noticed that there are actually more than enough objects I can pick to draw from home for this project. I was so narrow minded and I look at things like how it is without looking at it in a different perspective. So, this project really thought me a lot of things and it had broaden my thinking.
